Studio Assistant Job Description -Looking for a part time (15-20/hr week) self motivated, detail oriented, problem solver, positive energy person to work closely with studio founder Elise McMahon to help with LikeMindedObjects studio work on the computer, general organization and fabrication.

DETAILS of potential activities expected in 2026…

Computer World: We have some interesting event and research projects that require *computer brain* and media/graphic design skills, this will likely be 50-60% of the job….

  • Adobe Suite - mostly photoshop , illustrator basics

  • Google Suite - mostly spreadsheets , docs , presentations

  • Canva - video and ebook editing

  • Social Media - storytelling skills lalala (hoping to do some educational videos this year, both for LMO and some other collaborators/clients in ethical/upcycling production)

Webstore Management: When we get orders, you will be in charge of getting them out in a timely and organized fashion :) It’s no big deal, we aren’t a huge webstore, this would likely be 10-20% of job, but could grow or shrink depending.

  • Interface with SquareSpace inventory system and share tracking with customers

  • IRL Pack & Ship (We have ship systems in place I will show you)

Studio: We do a lot of different materials fabrication for custom furniture and product collections- we can tailor your role in making to what you are comfortable with and I can train you in what youre wanting to get better at…

  • Soft Goods - Sewing / upholstery / stuffing

  • HardMaterials - Wood/Metal

  • Alternative Recycled Materials - 

  • Finishes - Could be painting/ wood/metal finishes 

  • Coordination / Material Purchasing / Delivering or Picking Up - 

  • Organization / Tidy (it aint glamorous but we all gotta do it :) 

Interiors: We will be creating a showroom & other interior projects in 2026…. TBD!

Money stuff: Starting at $25/hr with room to grow depending on skillset level. There also could be more hours in a week if a bigger project comes up, this would be discussed on a case by case basis.

Time Commitment : 15-20hrs a week (we can discuss how best to manage the time, could be over 2, 2.5 or 3 days depending) Once we get cruising, some of this work could be done independently/from home.
